Elder Ben Winslett – Spiritual Warfare

Paul instructs Timothy that his full focus should be on the ministry and likens that effort to that of a soldier.  “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”  Elder Ben looks at the use of the word warreth.  The warfare we are engaged in is a battle for hearts and minds of God’s children.  When we are born again, we are drafted into God’s army.  It’s important to realize we are in a war and we must put on the proper armor.  And he reminds us that the word of God is our weapon in this battle.
