Elder Chris Crouse – The Good Shepherd
Elder Chris reads in 1 Samuel where David faced Goliath. The Israelites had chosen Saul who stood head and shoulders above everyone else, and efficient in battle. But God had departed from Saul and he was unwilling to face the champion of the Philistines. The nation was greatly afraid but God provided an unlikely hero in David. While tending to his sheep, David had honed skills in prayer and with his slingshot. He understood that the Lord could deliver without a great military captain or general, but rather a good shepherd. Elder Chris proclaims that the battles we face can be won with our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
