Elder Chris Crouse – The Throne of David

Elder Chris begins this sermon by describing the life of Solomon, who does not ask the Lord for riches or things for himself, but wisdom.  Solomon receives great wisdom from 1 Kings chapters 1 through 10 but Elder Chris points out a stark difference in chapter 11 where Solomon turns his heart from the Lord and to many women and other gods.  God passes afflictions and judgement to the line of David as a result, but not forever.  We have a righteous king in Chris Jesus.  In Luke 1:33 “And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”  While the kingdoms of men eventually fall, thanks be to God that Jesus is seated on David’s throne today, tomorrow, and forever.
