Elder Marty retakes the stand and turns to 1 Kings 2:12, “Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.” The warfare of Solomon’s father, David, was complete as Solomon took over. He parallels this to how the angel rolled away the stone of Jesus’s tomb and sat upon it, displaying Christ’s demonstration of power. And Elder Marty offers several reasons we can sit down and points out that after Solomon sat, he asked the Lord for wisdom. He encourages us to do the same, for He will give generously. But cautions not to seek worldly wisdom, but rather the wisdom of things on high.
