Elder Chris Crouse – The Seven Sayings of Jesus

Elder Chris Crouse chronicles the seven sayings our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ spoke while he was hung on Calvary’s Cross.  Through these sayings we see that during His sufferings the Lord’s heart and focus was on forgiveness.  Elder Chris begins in Luke 23:34 to emphasis this point. “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”   He further explains the completed work of Jesus on the Cross.  Jesus died for us.  He obtained redemption for us so that we may receive forgiveness of our sins. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” (Col 1:14).

Elder Chris goes on to outline the other sayings of Jesus Christ.  He relates how Jesus was the fulfillment of the Law.  How the Father’s will was accomplished and how we should put all our trust in the Lord.  While we live day to day we should be thankful to know we have the counsel of God.  Our Father faithfully leads and provides for us.
