Elder Chris Crouse – Romans: Paul’s Systematic Theology, Chapter 2, Part 3, An Inward Jew Or An Outward Jew

In the end of Romans Chapter 2, the Apostle Paul continues to tear down the flesh, clearly making his case against the Jewish population in addition to the Gentiles mentioned earlier.  He says “thou art called a Jew” and tells them that they were instructed in the law, having an advantage to others.  But the Jews became proud in who they were rather than resting in the grace of God.  They exalted the law of Moses, but not the God of the law.  Elder Chris explains the circumcision of the heart in that He has taken the old man and made us new created after the image of God.  And because of Christ in us, He can accept our praise.
