Elder Adam turns our attention to a passage where Jesus reads the prophecies of Isaiah to a “pro-Jesus” crowd. They were amazed by Him. But when Jesus told them that He was the fulfillment of the prophecy, they quickly turned against Him. Elder Adam explains that Jesus spoke to them the sovereignty of God and that is difficult for man to accept as man by nature focuses on self. King Nebuchadnezzar had dominion over most of the known world but acknowledged that God’s dominion was everlasting and across all generations. He reminds us that our God is in the heavens and He hath done whatsoever He hath pleased. And it pleased Him to save His children from their sins.
