Elder James Allen – Abraham’s Sacrifice
Elder James turns to the account where Abraham was commanded to sacrifice his only promised son Issac. Abraham did as the Lord commanded and as he stretched forth his hand to slay his son, an angel stopped him. Elder James points out Abraham’s amazing faith in that he would not withhold his son if the Lord commanded. But this sacrifice is more than just a lesson of faith, it’s also about us. The Lord provided a substitution for Issac with a ram, which represents the substitution of Christ for us. Elder James proclaims the good news that it was accepted by God the Father and we now have eternal life.
